| | | | The New England Transportation Institute and Museum, located at the Amtrak passenger station in downtown White River Junction, celebrates the Upper Valley's rich storehouse of river, rail, and air history. Our programs include exhibits illustrating more than 400 years of transportation history and perspectives on the importance of transportation to the region's future; displays of transportation memorabilia, artifacts and restored equipment; educational resources and activities; and events such as the annual "Glory Days of the Railroad" festival.
Our vision is to create a bi-state campus comprising of a museum, institute, and scenic excursion railway, dedicated to preserving and promoting the Upper Connecticut River Valley's rich transportation history and to supporting the development of an efficient and sustainable transportation system.
Our campus and facilities will span White River Junction, Vermont and West Lebanon, New Hampshire, occupying restored historic railroad and commercial properties in these neighboring communities located on opposite shores of the Connecticut River. |
